THE PARIS NEWS, Sun, Aug 6, 1944: “Mrs. Cecil Trotter, 361 W. Washington St, received word Friday morning from the War Department that her husband, Pfc. Cecil Trotter, has been missing in action in France since July 14. He was serving with a cavalry unit and had been overseas since last December. His wife is the former Miss Ruby Stewart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stewart, 361 W. Washington St. Hailing from Brentwood, Calif, Private Trotter was stationed at Camp Maxey for about ten months, leaving here last November.” Submitted by Carol Campbell.

THE PARIS NEWS, Sun, Sep 12, 1948: “Private Cecil Trotter to be Reburied Thursday. The body of Pvt. Cecil E. Trotter, killed in action in France July 14, 1944, will arrive in Paris Wednesday evening on the Texas and Pacific train for reburial. Service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Brown-Roden Funeral Home, with reburial in Evergreen Cemetery. Private Trotter, formerly of Brentwood, Calif., married Miss Ruby Stewart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stewart, 1845 E. Booth Street.” Submitted by Carol Campbell.
