THE PARIS NEWS, July 05, 2004: 'Elizabeth Trier Tyler, 92, of Cokesbury Village in Hockessin, Del., died Friday, July 2, 2004, after a long illness. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Beverly Olsen officiating. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond T. Trier of North Canton, Ohio, and Paris and of the late Chaplin W. Tyler of Hockessin, Del. She was born on Aug. 9, 1911, in Payne, Ohio, to Jerry and Minnie Strayer. She graduated from the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, Ind., and worked as a registered nurse until she married Trier in 1940. After his death in 1987, she moved to Hockessin, Del., and married Tyler, who preceded her in death on Feb. 29, 2004. She is survived by her son, Stanley T. Trier and wife, Ellen, of Dover, Del.; and her daughter, Sally Grant and husband, Gareth, of Sydney, Australia; eight grandsons; two granddaughters-in-law and one great-granddaughter. If desired, the family suggests contributions be made to Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services Inc., 700 Hoffman Drive, Watertown, Wis. 53094 or Lutheran Special Education Ministries, 6861 East Nevada, Detroit, Mich. 48234-2938.'
