THE PARIS NEWS, Mon., Dec. 30, 1996, p. 5A: 'Lonnie E. Tribble, 75, of Tigertown died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center after a two-year battle with cancer. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Fortenberry, the Rev. Scott Cox and the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial will be in Tigertown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the Tribble residence. Mr. Tribble was born July 16, 1921, in Lamar County, a son of Major Jutson and Zada Golihar Tribble. He married Elaine Decker June 20, 1945, in Paris. He was a retired rancher and a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He was active in community and county affairs for many years and was a member of East Paris Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife ; a daughter and son-in-law, Madeline and Larry Cope of the Georgia Community; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ron and Pam Tribble of Tigertown and Glen Tribble of Burkeville and Joette of Canton; six grandchildren, Michael, Kyle and Josh Tribble, Shelley Cope Rodgers and Deeanna Cope and Johnathen Tribble; two sisters, Nellie Robinson of Tigertown and Stella Mahan of Paris; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christina Tribble March 20, 1991; brothers M. Q., Elbert and W. R. Tribble; and two sisters, Marilda Jo Scott and Katherine Stapleton. Pallbearers will be David Robinson, Johnny Ray Decker, Dewayne Decker, Jay Robertson, Glendell Tribble and Mike Smith. Honorary bearers will be Lester Crutchfield, Vester Crutchfield, Pete Grayson, Dale Glass, Loyd Thompson, Robert Atnip, Bruce Blackshear, Junior Blackshear and Will Armstrong.'
