From the record journal of Meadowbrook Cemetery; son of Joseph M. and Minnie Lee Darling Townsend. Born in Fannin County, died in Paris.

THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 2 Nov 1989. 'Jack Townsend, 85, 603-3rd SW, died at St. Joseph's Hospital at 4:36 p.m. Sunday, 29 Oct 1989. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, 31 Oct, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial was in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Mr. Townsend was born 13 Aug 1904, in Lannis, Texas, a son of Joseph M. and Minnie Lee Darling Townsend. He attended Honey Grove schools and barber college in Dallas. He was a barber for 50 years until retiring in 1979. He first married Annie Mae Page on 8 Mar 1921. She died in 1974. He married Myrtle Cameron on 23 Feb 1977. Surviving are his wife; a son, Sammy Lee Townsend of Amarillo; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren,; and three sisters, Mrs. Dale Dye of Paris, Rosie Wilson of Paris and Mrs. J.W. Elam of Dallas.'
