THE PARIS NEWS, Mon., Aug. 21, 1995, p. 12A: 'Adrain Pierson Townsend, 70, of Dallas died Sunday, Aug. 20, 1995, in Baylor Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, in the Forest Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Rose officiating. Burial will be in Forest Chapel Cemetery by Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home. Mr. Townsend was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Chicota, a son of Horace B. and Sammie Pierson Townsend. He was a grocery store owner in Grand Prairie for many years and was a member of the White Rock United Methodist Church. He served in the Army during World War II. Surviving are a son, Paul Townsend of Royce City; a granddaughter, Katherine Nicole Townsend; two step-grandchildren, Jonathon Paul Robertson and Allison Michelle Robertson; two sisters, Mary Harrison of Prescott, AR and Johnnie Frierson of Chicota; and a brother, Dudley Townsend of Chicota. Pallbearers will be Kerry Grimes, Blake Harrison, Bob Harrison, John Lottlejohn, Dale Vanderburg and Jack Frierson. Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.'
