THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 14 May 1981: 'Mrs. Luther (Ruth) Towers, 51, of 417 E. Houston died in Dallas. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, 8 May, in Steele and Thomas Memorial Chapel with the Rev. R.P. Bell officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Towers was born in Harmon County, Okla., daughter of John O. Alexander and Minerva Ann Moree Alexander. She married Luther Towers in Paris on 1 Jun 1947. She was the owner and bookkeeper of Towers Motorcycle Shop, and a member of the United Pentecostal Church. She is survived by her husband; one son, Dickie Towers of Paris; one daughter, Debbie Towers of Paris; one brother, J.D. Alexander of Louisville, Ky.; one sister, Mrs. Johnny Mae (Preston) Ray of Paris and one grandchild.'

Tombstone is inscribed, 'Children: Dickie Lynn, Debbie Luann, Grandchild: Leah Nicole.'
