From the record journal of Meadowbrook Cemetery; son of Henry & Suzanne Toole Tomblin. Born & died in Paris, TX. THE PARIS NEWS, (Undated obituary) 'Virgil E. Tomblin of 54-23rd NW died at 8:55 p.m. Sunday at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Leverett and Steel Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Meadowbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Mr. Tomblin was born 20 Feb 1896 in Paris, a son of the late Henry Tomblin and Suzanne (Toole) Tomblin. He married Hazel Stamper on Nov 30, 1919 in Paris. He lived all his life in Lamar County and was a retired farmer and groceryman of the Atlas Community for 25 years. He was a World War I veteran, having served in the Army, and was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife of Paris; six sons, Eugene Tomblin, Paul Tomblin, Adrian Tomblin, Robert Tomblin, Thomas Tomblin and Wayne Tomblin, all of Paris; two daughters, Mrs. Herschel (Dorothy) Blankenship and Mrs. Wayne (Faye) Caviness, both of Paris; and nine grandchildren.'
