Notes
On the same stone with Hugh F. Tinnin. From an undated-unnamed newspaper obituary clipping from 'The Paris Scrapbook' donated by Skipper Steely; handwritten date; Sept 29, 1914. 'Mrs. Randall Johnson Tinnin, the wife of H. F. Tinnin, a well known citizen of Paris and life long resident of Lamar county, died at 7:45 o'clock yesterday morning at the family residence on South Main street after a brief illness. She had been ill only about a week and her death was a shock to her friends, many of whom did not know that she was sick. The deceased was born in Octibehoe county, MS, December 21, 1853, and was the daughter of Capt. Randall Johnson and Mrs. Annie Johnson, old residents of Lamar county. She was married to Mr. Tinnin December 19, 1872, and is survived by her husband and four children; Mrs. M. A. Walker, Hugh W. Tinnin, Burnett W. Tinnin and David F. Tinnin, all of whom reside in Paris. She also leaves two brothers, Charles J. Johnson of Soper, OK and Willis F. Johnson of Kampti, LA, and two sisters; Mrs. R. E. Johnson of Deport and Mrs. Emma Hamm of Memphis, TN. She was also the niece of Mrs. W. H. Sluder of this city. She was a member of the Central Presbyterian church, but on account of the illness of the pastor, Rev. W. B. Kendall of the First Baptist church will officiate at the funeral service, which will be held at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon at her late residence. Interment will be at Evergreen.'
