THE PARIS NEWS Thu., Sep. 16, 1993, p.16A. 'Kathyrn Cordelia Hines Tilson, 70, Rt. 2, Powderly, died Tuesday, Sep. 14, in Methodist Hospital, Houston. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sep. 17, in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Yarbrough officiating. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Tilson was born Jan. 27, 1923, in Lamar County, a daughter of Baxter and Dora West Matthews. She attended schools in Lamar County and then business college. For many years she was employed by House Jewelers before opening her own business, The Clothes Tree, which she operated for about five years before retiring in 1979. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Powderly. She married Aubrey Hines in 1940. He died in 1969. She later married Elmer L. Tilson in 1981, his death occurring in 1988. She had been a member of the board of Willowcreek Children's Home. Surviving are a son, Denny Hines of Powderly; a sister, Florence Daughtrey of Powderly; two stepdaughters, Martha Baker and Carolyn Mathews, both of Fritch; a stepson, Stanley Tilson of Portland, OR; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, six sisters, and a son, Kendall Hines, in 1983. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rosson, Carl Johnson, Gene Sparks, Don Barlow, Ed Colbert and David Dunmon.'
