| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., Jan. 18, 1994, p. 10A: "Thaddus J. Thornhill, 79, 118 East Oak Ave., died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, in St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Thornhill was born May 13, 1914, in Hiwasse, AR, a son of John Anthony and Margie Mable Standifer Thornhill. He attended schools in Benton County, AR, and was a carpenter and building contractor. He married Mary B. Martin Williams in Paris Jan. 12, 1964. He was a Baptist and member of the Carpenter's Union Local No. 304. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Dr. Earl Thornhill of the Marshall Islands and Dean Thornhill of Dallas; four stepchildren, Connie Shoemate of Novice, Shirley Bergt of Texarkana, Pat Spencer of Sumner and Jimmy Williams of Mesquite; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Thornhill of Graverre, AR and Roger Thornhill of Soloman, KS; and a sister, Grace Engleman of Exeter, MO. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Edith Sonnier and Audrey Arnold. Pallbearers will be Russell Gifford, Greg Gifford, Kenny Gifford, Allen Gifford, Dan McKinney and Joe Spencer."
