THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, July 17, 1936, p. 10: “J. H. THOMPSON, 67, CALLED BY DEATH. Jim H. Thompson of 137 North Twentieth street died Friday morning at 9:15 o’clock at his home after an illness. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 o’clock at Manton-Fry funeral home, and interment will be made at Evergreen cemetery. Survivors are his wife, three daughters and three sons, Mrs. Ada Armstrong, Wichita Falls; Mrs. C. F. Hargrove, Paris; Mrs. C. E. Golden, Oklahoma City; Walter and Lee Thompson of Dallas and Jack Thompson of Shreveport, La. He was born July 26, 1869 in Alabama."
