Notes

THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, February 7, 1935, p. 2: "Former Superintendent of Gulf Pipe Line Co., Had Long Illness. Alonzo L. Thompson, 62 years old, former superintendent of the Gulf Pipe Line company here died at 5:33 p.m. Wednesday at the Sanitarium of Paris where he had been a patient some time. He had retired from active business several years ago, do to ill health. Funeral arrangements had not been announced at noon Thursday, pending word from his brothers living at Tulsa, Okla. who were expected to arrive by plane during the day. It is probable however that service will be held here some time Friday. Mr. Thompson first came to Paris as superintendent of the Gulf Pipe Line company when the line was being constructed from Powderly to Saltillo, and upon retirement later on, made Paris his home. He was unmarried and the only immediate relatives are four brothers, J. S., H. H. and W. E. Thompson, living in Tulsa and another in Pennsylvania."

THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, February 8, 1935, p. 2: "Announcement is made that funeral services for Alonzo Thompson, 62, who died at the Sanitarium of Paris, will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at Manton-Fry funeral chapel conducted by D. F. L. Wear, pastor of the Central Presbyterian church, and internment will be made at Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Thompson, who had been in failing health for sometime, was former superintendent of the Gulf Pipe Line."
