THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, January 21, 1934, p. 7: “J. N. THOMASON IS BURIED SATURDAY. Death Resulted of Injuries When Kicked By Mule. J. N. Thomason of Brookston, 46 years old, died Friday afternoon at the Sanitarium of Paris of internal injuries suffered several days ago when he was kicked in the abdomen by a mule. The funeral was held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at Hopewell cemetery, conducted by Rev. J. W. Milligan of Unity. Mr. Thomason is survived by four sons and three daughters, besides two brothers, J. A. Thomason of Maxey and E. C. Thomason of Texline, and two sisters, Mrs. John Bean and Mrs. Frank Hargrove of Paris.”
