THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 17 Mar 1988: 'Funeral services for the Rev. Willie Bill Thomas of Cherry Street Manor were held Wednesday, 16 Mar, at 1 p.m. at the Faith Powerhouse Church of God in Christ. Elder Craven Smith officiated. Beasley Memorial Funeral Home made burial in Fairland Cemetery. Mr. Thomas died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born 15 Sep 1912, in Choctaw County, Okla., a son of Buddy and Caroline Thomas. He attended Choctaw County schools and was a carpenter. He was former pastor of St. John Baptist Church in Greenville. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Wayne Garvin and William B. Williams, both of Paris; four daughters, Faye Katherine Harris of Adkinson, Calif., Cheryl Garvin of Dallas, Regina Kay Williams and Stephanie L. Williams, both of Paris; and eight grandchildren.'
