THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, December 26, 1951, p. 7: “WILL THOMAS [picture]. Will Thomas, 67, compress foreman and former public weigher, who lived at 125-12th NE, died Monday at 5 p.m. at the Sanitarium of Paris. the funeral was held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul O. Cardwell of First Methodist Church. Burial was made in Evergreen Cemetery, pallbearers being Noble Thompson, J. B. Thomas, Jr., Edwin Bowen, William Haley, Frank Crain and W. P. Denman. Mr. Thomas leaves his wife, the former Miss eula Bowen, whom he married in 1908; two daughters, mrs. D. E. Mitchell, Marshall , and Mrs. C. J. Pantaleo, Broxville, N.Y.; three grandchildren and a brother, J. B. Thomas, Paris. Born at Pattonville, Sept. 8, 1884, Will Thomas was a son of the late Dan W. and Ada (James) Thomas. He attended Pattonville schools and was a farmer there. He was elected public weigher at Pattonville 1914-1918, and after moving to Paris was elected weigher there, 1933-37. He had lived in Paris since 1920, and was foreman for the Farmers and Merchants Warehouse and Compress. He had joined the Methodist Church in 1916 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.”
