THE PARIS NEWS, Saturday, September 28, 1940, p. 6: "Death of Guy Teague, veteran city employee, occurred at 3 a.m. Wednesday at his residence, 31 N. 26th. He had been city street commissioner eight years and prior to that time, had served on the police force four years. The Rev. A. B. White, pastor of First Baptist Church, will conduct the funeral service Thursday at 5 p.m. at Manton-Fry Funeral Home and burial will be made at Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lewis Stringer. Austin Hefflefinger, Hardy Moore, J. W. Sain, L. O. Briggle and Evan Cameron. Mayor M. M. Crook and all city employees will be honorary pallbearers. Mr. Teague was born April 3, 1873 in Tennessee, and had lived in Paris 30 years. His wife died about three years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bob Rucker of St. Louis, Miss Mittie Lee Teague, and a foster-son, James T. Hammett of Paris, and one brother, Fred Teague of Pattonville.”
