THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, undated: “Robert H. Taylor, 74, of 6003 Sayle, Greenville, died Wednesday, November 9, 1977, in a Greenville hospital. Services were held Friday, November 11, at the Leverett Steele Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Layman officiating. Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Taylor was born November 18, 1902, in Reno, son of William Taylor and Mattie Allen Taylor. He married Lillian Cass on December 28, 1930, in Paris. In 1948 he moved to Antlers, Oklahoma to manage the Fry Lumber Company and later owned a paint store in Antlers before moving to Greenville where he also owned a paint store. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Antlers. Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Bill Campbell (Mildred) of Greenville; three brothers, Ellis Taylor of Paris, Joe Taylor of Lubbock and Rufus Taylor of Miami, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Spikes of Paris; three grandchildren, Jimmy Campbell, Kathy Campbell and Teresa Campbell all of Greenville. Pallbearers were Ned Grice, Jimmie Campbell Lee Harp, Alton Watts, Horace Moore and C.A. Cass.” Submitted by Mary Tallant.
