THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, July 18, 1940, p. 14: “J. F. TAYLOR. J. F. Taylor passed away at his home, 282 North Main Street, Thursday morning at 9:30. He was 80 years of age. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 4:30 p. m. at the Brown-Roden chapel by the Rev. C. D. Montgomery, pastor of the First Methodist Church, with interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Survivors are one son Herbert Taylor of Dallas; one daughter, Mrs. Lota Patton of Austin; one sister, Miss Jo B. Taylor of Paris, and two grandchildren.”
