THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, 9 Jun 1952, p. 2: “Mrs. Prudence Painter - Burial was made Monday at 11:30 a. m. at Evergreen Cemetery here following funeral services in New Boston for Mrs. Prudence Buford Painter, 88, who died at her home in New Boston Sunday. Burial was in charge of Fry & Gibbs. Mrs. Painter, born in Delta County, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simmon [Simeon] Buford. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. S. A. McCuistion, with whom Mrs. Painter made her home in New Boston, and several nieces and nephews.”
THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, 10 Jun 1952, p. 11: “Tainter Burial - Burial was made Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery here following funeral services in New Boston for Mrs. Prudence Buford Tainter, 88, who died at her home in New Boston Sunday. The name was given erroneously as Painter in Monday’s Paris News. Mrs. Tainter made her home in New Boston with her sister, Mrs. S. A. McCuistlon.”
