THE PARIS NEWS, Thu., Jun. 26, 1997, p. 12A: '(Picture) Lela Juanita Tomblin, 73, of Paris died Wednesday June 25, 1997, at her home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Elsom and the Rev. Mark Butcher officiating. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Tomblin was born Sep. 12, 1923, in Lamar County to Hugh Lee and Octavia Bramlett McCarrell. She married Henry Eugene Tomblin July 26, 1941. He died May 10, 1994. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Paula Ann and Joe Dudzienski of Reno, two grandchildren, Lynn Bettes of Midwest City, OK and Samuel Lee Bettes of Reno; three sisters, Ethel Butler of Paris, Lois McCarrell of Mesquite and Geneva Nye of Paris; one brother, Johnny McCarrell of Garland; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.'
