| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, April 2, 1999, page 4B: 'DEPORT - Therald Hampton Bettes, 90, of Sumner, formerly of Deport, died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at Paris Healthcare Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 3, at Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. He was born Dec. 8, 1908, in Calhoune County, W. Va., to Wade Hampton and Leola Shanks Betts. He was an Army veteran, serving in the 2nd Armored Division as a cook and staff sergeant. He had made his home the past 10 years with his sister and brother-in-law, Naosha and Jim Walker. Surviving are his sister, Naosha; six nieces, two nephews; and several great nieces and great-nephews.' |
