THE PARIS NEWS, July 23, 2008: “IDABEL, Okla., Mamie Beason, 90, of Broken Bow, Okla., passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008, in Broken Bow. Services are set for 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2008, at Conley-White Funeral Chapel in Idabel with Lee Mussett and Bro. Thomas Cockerham officiating. Interment follows in Forest Chapel Cemetery in Chicota. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, V. P. Beason; sons, Virgil Beason, and Robert Beason; a grandson, Darren Haltom; and two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Kay Beason of Nashville, Ark., Bucky and Carolyn Beason of Hugo, Okla.; daughters and sons-in-law, Florence and Max Curry of Midland, Lisa and Patrick Meaney of Del Ray Beach, Fla., Glenda Haltom of Midland, and Sandra Mayfield of Paris; 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives; and a host of friends. Mamie Beason, 90, of Broken Bow, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2008, at Broken Bow. She was born Aug. 21, 1917, in Chicota, Texas, the daughter of Evett and Georgie English Milson. Mamie was a homemaker. She was an accomplished seamstress, and was known for her quilting. Mamie was a member of the Methodist Church and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, V.P. Beason; sons, Virgil Beason, and Robert Beason; a grandson, Darren Haltom; and two sisters and two brothers.
