THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, Sep. 3, 1987: 'Hazel Marie Irion of Balch Springs, formerly of Paris, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, in the Charter Suburban Hospital in Mesquite. Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 28, in the Anderson-Clayton Funeral Home Chapel in Mesquite. The Rev. Richard Oliver officiated. Graveside services were held Friday in the Long Cemetery of Lamar County. Mrs. Irion was born Sep. 10, 1914, in Paris, the daughter of John H. Burnette and Cora Weaver Burnette. She married Robert Irion in Paris. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1984. She was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church in Dallas and of the Balch Springs Senior Citizens Center. She was a homemaker. She is survived by one son, Bobby Irion of Balch Spring; one daughter, Mrs. Alton (Melda) Barak of Balch Springs; a grandson, David Barak and his wife Ruth, both of Balch Springs; a granddaughter, Melda Marie Barak of Balch Springs; and one sister, Edith Morrison of Powderly. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.'
