THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, April 8, 1962: "Mrs. Mary Thomas, 89, a widow living at 1812 W. Kaufman St., died at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gilbert Streety, 2038 Bonham St. Services are arranged for 3 p.m. Monday at Gene Roden & Sons chapel, and officiating will be the Rev. Gerald McCollom of Garrett Memorial Methodist Church where Mrs. Thomas was a member. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Born at Sulphur Bluff, Dec. 20, 1873, Mrs. Thomas was a daughter of Tom and Elmina (Bradey) Wells. Besides her daughter here, survivors are two sons, by different marriages; Edgar L. Pollard, Vernon, and Carl A. Thomas, Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, John Wells, Paris, and Adolph Wells, Sulphur Springs, and a sister, Mrs. Leora Traughber, Commerce."
