THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., Sep. 9, 1997, p.4B: 'Edward F. Baze, 71, Rt. 9, Paris, died Saturday, Sep. 6, 1997, at Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sep. 9, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with the Rev. Dverle Archer and the Rev. Robert Myre officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. He was born Dec. 15, 1925, in Unity to William and Mary McFatridge Baze. He married Virgie Bristow Aug. 16, 1958, in Paris. He served in the Navy during World War II and retired from B.F. Goodrich after 32 years. He was a member of Highway Full Gospel Church where he served as president of the board 30 years. Surviving are his wife; one son, Steve Baze of Illinois; two daughters, Kay Barber of Paris and Charlotte Elmore of Missouri; a brother, Arlie Thurman of Arizona; one sister, Betty Bennett of Texarkana, AR; seven grandchildren, Tammy Farmer, Eddie Chennault, Jana Parson and Mandy McCann, all of whom he helped rear, and Stevie Baze, Jason Baze and Dewayne Elmore; and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Eddie Chennault, Stevie Baze, Jason Baze, Dwayne Elmore, Mark Farmer, Mark Parson, Chase Chennault and Jackie McCann. Honorary bearers will be board members of Highway Full Gospel Church.'
