THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, August 3, 1970: “Mrs. Josie (Allen) Batson, 78, of Borger, formerly a Paris area resident 23 years, died Sunday at North Plains Hospital at Borger. She was born at Fort Towson, Okla., Sept. 1, 1891, and her late husband was John Hill Batson. Her funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Church of God at Blossom, burial to be made there in Knights of Honor Cemetery, by Gene Roden & Sons funeral home of Paris. Mrs. Batson leaves four children: Mrs. Lloyd Clark and Nillan Batson, Borger; Mrs. John J. Dooley, Natchez, Miss., and James Batson, Spearman; also 46 other descendants, and a brother, Buddy Allen of Avery.”
