From an unnamed and undated obituary: “Last rites for Edgar L. Ivey, 79, of 1903 E. Polk St., were conducted Thursday afternoon at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home, interment being made in Evergreen Cemetery. The bearers were Jack Lee, DeWitt Moore, Jim Crain, Homer Eubanks, J.M. (Mutt) Cross and Don Wilson. Mr. Ivey, a retired machinist-foreman for Rodgers-Wade Furniture Company, died early Wednesday at his home.”
