Tombstone is inscribed, 'Tec 5 US Army WW II.' THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 11 Dec 1989. 'Funeral services for Thomas Calvin Isom, 6740 Lamar Rd., were conducted Monday in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Conder officiating. Burial was in Knights of Honor Cemetery at Blossom. Bearers were Leslee Watkins, Raymond Criswell, Robbie Criswell, Sammy Wayne Sims, Rod Sims and Bubba Sims. Mr. Isom died Friday at his home. Surviving are his wife, Lorene; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Denise Isom of Paris; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sammy and Linda Sims of Troup and Raymond and Ann Criswell of Clarksville; eight grandsons and three great grandchildren.' THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 10 Dec 1989. 'Thomas Calvin Isom Sr., 69, 6740 Lamar Road, died at 11:48 a.m. Friday, 8 Dec 1989, at his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, 11 Dec, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Conder officiating. Burial will be in Knights of Honor Cemetery in Blossom. Mr. Isom was born 12 Jun 1920, in Sylvan, a son of Thomas Claude and Maggie Skidmore Isom. He attended Sylvan and Paris schools and Paris Junior College and Paris Commercial College. He served in the Army during World War II. He retired in 1978 as a shop foreman for Jelly Skidmore Trucking Co. He was a member of the Reno Church of Christ where he served as a deacon. He married Lorene Stell in Hugo, Okla. on 24 Dec 1941. Surviving are his wife; a son and a daughter-in-law, Tammy and Denise Isom of Paris, two daughters and sons-in-law, Sammy and Linda Sims of Troup and Raymond and Ann Criswell of Clarksville; eight grandsons and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. John (Doris) Allen, in 1989.'
