THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, February 25, 1976, p. 13: “HORACE ISBELL. CLARKSVILLE -- Horace Gilbert Isbell of Bonham, owner of Smokey’s Paint and Body Shop, died Monday in Bonham. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lindeman Chapel in the Clarksville Funeral Home. Burial will be made in the Highland Cemetery in Deport. Mr. Gilbert was born in Clarksville Dec. 1, 1920, son of Mrs. Annie Isbell and the late John Isbell. He served in the Navy during World War II. Survivors include his mother of Clarksville; one son, James David Isbell of DeKalb; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Schell of Dallas and Mrs. Pauline Merritt of Pattonville; one brother Bob Isbell of Clarksville and three grandchildren.”
Also has a military marker inscribed, "AMM3 US Navy - World War II." Near Mildred Ellen Smallwood.
