THE PARIS NEWS, 8 Jun 1962: (Picture) 'W. T. (Bill) Irion, 68, longtime real estate dealer here, who lived on Paris, Rt. 6, died Friday at 1:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital. He had been in ill health the past few years and entered the hospital May 15. He was the father of Capt. Robert Irion of Paris, now on duty with the 49th Armored Division at Ft. Polk, La., Other survivors are two grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. J. L. (Lum) White, Burbank, Calif. Mr. Irion's wife, the former Miss Ruth Ragsdale, died 7 Aug 1958. Born in Texas, 24 Aug 1893, Bill Irion was a son of Robert and Matilda (Temple) Irion. He and his son were associated in the real estate business. He was a member of First Methodist Church, and for a number of years had been active in various civic and welfare drives, including Paris' first Community Chest campaign, baseball promotion, and others, beside chairmanship of the mental health group here. The funeral, Saturday at 2 p.m. will be held at Gene Roden and Sons chapel other details being incomplete.'
