THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, January 6, 1941, p. 7: “MRS. ELLEN INGRAM OF ROXTON DIES. Mrs. Ella Maggard Ingram, widow of Lafayette Ingram, died at 11:30 p. m. Sunday at her home northeast of Roxton, after a week’s illness. Funeral service was set for 3 p. m. Monday at Oak Ridge Church of Christ at Roxton, conducted by the Rev. P. F. Herndon, minister of First Congregational Church of Paris, assisted by the Rev. Kirk M. Beard, Methodist pastor at Roxton, with burial at the Denton Cemetery at Roxton by Brown-Roden Funeral Home. Nephews named to serve as pallbearers are Ingram and J. V. Creed, L. E. Ingram, Jr., M. S. Ingram, Jr., Portwood Alley and Joe Cregg. Mrs. Ingram leaves six children, Mrs. Viola Creed, B. M. Ingram, Dr. L. E. Ingram and J. R. Ingram, all of Roxton; Mrs. J. F. Humphries of Lampasas and Milton S. Ingram of Richardson; 15 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. She was born April 17, 1855, in Carrollton, Mo., and was married Feb. 3, 1870. She and her husband moved to Texas soon afterward. She had been a member of the. Church of Christ since young womanhood.”
