THE PARIS NEWS, March 1937: "B. G. Ballard, 29 years old, died Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at his home on the Emberson road northwest of Paris after a short illness.  Arrangements were made for the funeral service at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the church at Garrett's Bluff, conducted by the Rev. J. W. Milligan, Baptist, pastor from Unity, Emberson-Brown-Roden funeral home had charge.  Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Ballard, four brothers and a sister, Oscar and Archie Ballard and Mrs. R. L. Bryan of Paris; Orvel Ballard of Petty and Odis Ballard of Little Rock, Ark."
