THE PARIS NEWS, 20 Mar 1947: "Funeral service for Mrs. J. F. Butler, 70, of Powderly was held Saturday afternoon at Powderly Methodist Church by Elder E. A. Brown at Red Hill Church. Burial in Red Hill Cemetery was made by Brown Roden Funeral Home, pallbearers being Melvin Jones, Roy Jones, Troy Jones, Claud Jones, F. B. Bass and O. W. Bass. Mrs. Butler, who died at home Thursday afternoon, leaves her husband and three sisters: Mrs. T. J. Dismuke, Farmersville; Mrs. E. A. McKnight, Alhambra, Calif., and Miss Sammie Havens, Powderly. She was formerly Miss Daisy Bell Havens, born 6 Mar 1877 at Farmersville, daughter of the late J.M. and Mary E. Moore Havens."
Tombstone is inscribed, "Wife of J. F. Butler."
