THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, April 25, 1955, p. 6: "Mrs. Gene Bush, 71, the formeer Miss Annie Viola Tuttle, who lived on Pine Mill Road, died Monday at 6:40 a.m. at Lamar General Hospital, after illness. Time for the funeral had not been set, but internment will be made at Roxton, her former home, by Gene Roden & Sons here. Mrs. Bush, whose husband died in 1936, was born in Lamar County, January 14, 1884, daughter of the late Frank and Willie (Mock) Tuttle. Surviving are these children: A. D. Bush, Mrs. Fronnie Dickey, Mrs. Arrie Butler and Mrs. Virgil Ausmus, Paris; Mrs. A. O. Phillips, Malakoff; Miss Emma Bush and Mrs. Andy Dickey, Rt. 2, Paris; Mrs. Isaac Gregory, Kaufman; Mrs. Lloyd Vick, Roxton, and Mrs. Floyd Weaver, Ben Franklin; 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Leona Hellums, Dallas."

THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, April 26, 1955, p. 9: "Last rites for Mrs. Gene Bush, 71, of Pine Mill Road, were set Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Brookston Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. J. L. Hide. Gene Roden & Sons had charge of burial in Restland Cemetery, Roxton, pallbearers being Gordon Hogue, Tom Gabbert, Dewey Ausmus, Nathan Coco, John Gilliam and Earl Marr. The former Miss Annie Viola Tuttle, Mrs. Bush died Monday at Lamar General Hospital here after illness."
