THE PARIS NEWS Mon., Apr. 27, 1992, p.2A: '... 89, of Paris, died Sat., Apr. 25, at Cherry St. Annex Nursing Home. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home in charge of graveside services, 2:30 p.m. Tue., Apr. 28 with Rev. Ray Starnes and Rev. Judy Cooper. Born in Oelwein, IO., daughter of Willis W. and Katherine Holroyd Staples, she attended Paris schools and married Erice Burroughs Jan. 4, 1931. Member of 1st. United Methodist Church. Was co-owner of Staples Jewelry Store, 1916-1983. Surviving are a brother, Robert B. Staples Sr. of Paris; a sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Orby Brooks; several nieces and nephews including Robert B. Staples Jr. of Paris, Orby S. Brooks of Dumas, Sandra Christian and Betty Hutchison, both of Paris, Mary Elizabeth Graham of Silsbee, Betty Joyce Floriano of VA., Robert Bruce Staples 11 and godchild, Tracy Ellen Cook of Columbus, MO.' This is also entered under surname Staples.
