LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, March 29, 1984, p. 6. 'Houston Burks Buckner, 1501 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, died Thursday, March 22, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Services were held Monday, March 26, at Truevine Christian Church with the Rev. J. L. Bailey officiating. Burial was in Fairland Cemetery by Maxey Funeral Home. Mr. Buckner was born Feb. 7, 1906, in Lamar County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Buckner. He was a member of the Truevine Christian church. Surviving are his wife, Jessie Mae; a son, A. J. Johnson of Paris; six grandchildren, Jimmy and Steve Johnson of Dallas, Andrew Johnson, Loretta Walters and Beverly Yates, all of Paris and Vickie Dixon Vinnis of Whiteman, Mo.; eight great-grandchildren.'
