THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., Jan. 17, 1928: “W. R. Buckman, well known Lamar county man, died Sunday morning at 9:40 o’clock at his home 135 North Seventeenth Street, following six weeks’ illness. Mr. Buckman had been in ill health for the last year due to heart desease. Mr. Buckman had been a resident of Texas for more than 40 years. He had lived in Lamar county for the past 20 years and engaged in farming. He retired some time before his death. Mr. Buckman is survived by the following children; Mrs. Bessie Glasscock, Brownwood; Mrs. Hattie Elliott, Mayfield, KY.; Mrs. W. A. Weikel, Texarkana; Mrs. L. W. Jackson, Hopewell; Mrs. J. W. Wilson, Paris; G. R. Buckman, Fort Worth; J. C. Buckman, Bokchito, Okla.; H. R. Buckman, Lake Creek; W. L. Buckman, Lorenza; J. D. Buckman, Forth Worth; and V. E. Buckman, Honey Grove.”
