THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, November 29, 1936, p. 5: “J. S. BRYAN. Death of J. S. Bryan, 60 years old, occurred at his home, 373 Maple avenue, Saturday morning at 10:30 o’clock. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Shady Grove cemetery, southeast of Paris, Manton-Fry funeral home having charge of arrangements. Survivors are his wife and five children, J. J. Bryan, Mrs. Barham Huggins, Mrs. Will Humphrey, and Mrs. R. L. Mills, all living in Lamar county and Mrs. H. C. Cantrell of Roscoe.”
