| Notes THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 10 Aug 1989. 'Otreal N. Bruce, 73, of Blossom, died Sunday, 6 Aug 1989, at McCuistion Medical Center. Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, 9 Aug, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel with Elton Hailey and Dwight Birdsong officiating. Burial was in Knights of Honor Cemetery. Mrs. Bruce was born 28 Sep 1915, in Plain Dealing, La., a daughter of Ira Hugh and Sarah Alice Myers Arnold. She married Marvin W. Bruce on 19 Dec 1944, in Hugo, Okla. She was a member of the Church of Christ and wrote for THE DEPORT TIMES and THE BLOSSOM TIMES for many years. She was active in the former Blossom Lioness Club and in the Blossom senior citizens group. Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Ann Eddins of Blossom and Alice Nordin of Edna; one brother, Rebel Brannan of Powderly; three grandchildren, Kevin Thompson of Connecticut, Monica Velasquez of Lewisville and Carrie Nordin of Edna; and a great granddaughter, Randa Kaye Velasquez.' |
