THE PARIS NEWS, 9 Nov 1945, Friday, p. 8: “MRS. T. D. BRUCE - Death of Mrs. T. D. Bruce, 1623 S. Church St., occurred Friday morning at 8 o’clock at home, after a serious illness. The family had returned to Paris only five weeks ago from Wynnewood, Okla., where they had lived the past six years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, afternoon at Brown-Roden Funeral Home by the Rev. Mr. Walker, minister from Wynnewood, and burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hugh Waldren of Wynnewood, Fred Milsap, Walter Johnson, Fay Wright, Amos Woodrow and Les Waggener. Mrs. Bruce, formerly Miss Eliza Thomas, was born in Tennessee, Jan. 5, 1876, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Thomas. Surviving are her husband three stepchildren, Mrs. Myrtle Pierce, Paris; John B. Bruce, Lamesa, and Capt. Bill Bruce, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md.; three sisters; Mrs. Walter Jones, and Mrs. Mary Vanderburg, Wynnewood, and Mrs. Joe Nelms, Marshall, and two brothers living a Clarksville.”
