Notes
From an undated-unnamed newspaper obituary clipping from 'The Paris Scrapbook' donated by Skipper Steely; 'Mrs. Neppa Brown, the wife of Elder E. D. Brown, a Primitive Baptist preacher, residing on North Thirteenth street, died Saturday morning at 8 o'clock after an illness of a few hours. She had been in bad health for some time, but was able to be up. After supper she attended preaching at the church and after returning home sat up a short time. While she was preparing her bed about 11 o'clock to retire she was stricken with a pain in the head and fell across the bed unconscious from paralysis. She never spoke after being stricken. She was 48 years old and had lived in and around Paris fifteen or twenty years. She had been a member of the Primitive Baptist church nearly all of her life. She is survived by her husband and a son. The funeral was held Monday afternoon conducted by Elder Claud McClure. The burial was at Little Vine cemetery near Sumner. At the request of the family, R. F. Bunch and his seven sons, near neighbors and friends for a long time, served as pallbearers.' Tombstone is inscribed, 'Neppie'. Married Brown. There is an unknown wood stake next to this grave.
