THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 17 Dec 1981. 'Services for Mrs. W. A. (Gertrude) Brown, 580 3rd SW, were held Wednesday, 16 Dec in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Milton Guttierrez of Greenville and the Rev. Bob Turnipseed, pastor of Oak Park United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Brown died Tuesday, 15 Dec 1981 at Cherry Street Manor Nursing Home. She was born 2 Nov 1898 in Center, Ala., a daughter of Joe and Ella Elizabeth Bramlett Anthony. She married W. A. Brown in Paris in 1921 and he died 12 Nov 1945. She attended Lamar County schools and had worked for 25 years in the diet kitchen at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church and of its Winmore Sunday School Class and the Methodist Women Guild. She was a former member of the Frisco WHD Club. She is survived by two sons, Karl A. Brown or Paris and Omas L. Brown of Denison; one daughter, Mrs. Morris Guest of Paris; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a number of cousins.' Buried next to Ervin C. Smithers.
