THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, December 28, 1975, p. 12: "HUGO, Okla. Mrs. Lear Brown of Hugo died Thursday at Ray's Nursing Home here. She was 78. Service arrangements are pending with Rogan Funeral Home."

THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1975, p. 7: "HUGO, Okla. -- Funeral services for Mrs. Lear Brown, 78, who died Christmas Day are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday in Rogan Funeral Home chapel here. The Rev. Mollie Collins will officiate. Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery, Paris, Tex. Mrs. Brown who died in Ray's Nursing Home is survived by one son, George Brown, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Mrs. Susie Sanders and Miss Geraldine Brown, both of Hugo; 45 other descendants; one brother Charlie Johnson of Crescent and two sisters, Mrs. Etta Gunner, of Oklahoma Cit and Mrs. Minnie Johnson, Paris, Tex."
