The Paris News, Dec 1978; Mrs. J. L. Brown, 87, of 3206 Bonham Street, died Friday, December 22, 1978, in a local hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 23, at the Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Milton Guttierrez of Oak Park United Methodist Church. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Ethel Jackson Brown was born December 6, 1891, in Noble, daughter of Tom and Mary Askew Jackson. She was a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church and a member of the Winmore Sunday School class there. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and of the Rebekah Lodge. Mrs. Brown had worked at Margraves Drug Store in Paris for some nine years before retiring due to ill health. Survivors include two sisters, Miss Alma Jackson of Paris and Mrs. Nell Estes of Longbeach CA; one brother, Roscoe Jackson of Longbeach, CA; two nephews, J.T. Brown and Phillip Brown, both of Paris and one niece, Mrs. Mary Tiller of Waco. Pallbearers were Geron Crumley, S.P. Gibbens, Warren Bills, Byron Richey, Dee Cunningham and Fred Hall.
