THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 25 Feb 1988. 'Edward L. Brown, 47, 716 E. Washington, died at 7:10 p.m. Friday, 19 Feb 1988, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Services were held Monday, 22 Feb, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Newman and Albert Roach officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Brown was born 28 Jun 1940, in Thornton, Texas, a son of Bob O. and Lillie Belle Williamson Brown. He attended Deport schools and married Frances L. Jones on 12 Dec 1959, in Bogata. He had lived in Paris for 28 years and was owner of O'Kay Upholstery. Surviving are his wife; one son, Scott Brown of Paris; one daughter, Kim Hanley of Paris; two sisters, Juanita Nolan of Hobbs, N.M. and Maurine Brown of Mexia; five brothers, Wilson Brown of Paris, Bobby Brown of Conroe, C.W. Brown of Deer Park, Garland Brown of Groesbeck and Millard Brown of Hubbard, and a number of nieces and nephews.'
