From materials donated to the genealogical library in 1995 by Thelma Jean Day: 'Funeral of Artorya Brown, 41, Negro resident of Kansas City, MO, formerly of Arthur City, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Baptist Church, Arthur City. Burial there will be made by William Maxey Funeral Home, the Rev. F.D. Conwright to officiate. Son of Mrs. Angie Brown of Arthur City, Artorya Brown died Sunday in Kansas City, where he had been found badly beaten, the day before. He had lived there the past nine years. Besides his mother, he leaves a daughter, Romaine Brown; and these sisters and brothers: Mrs. Gertrude Webb, Mrs. Sadie White and Mrs. Margaret Brown, all of Arthur City; Mrs. Modesta Francis, Ft. Worth; M.W. Brown and Frank Brown, Dallas; and C. Lee Brown, Fresno, CA.' |
