THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 9 Apr 1987. 'Funeral services for Edward Brown, 357 2nd NE, were Saturday, 4 Apr 1987, at the Greatr Mount Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Jones Jr. officiating. Burial was in Biardstown Cemetery. Beasley Memorial Funeral Home had charge of services. He was born 28 Jan 1915, in Lamar County, a son of the late William Brown and Lela Crook. He was a World War II veteran and attended Lamar County schools. Survivors include two sisters, Nancy Shirley Brown of Hollywood, Calif., and Claudia Perry of Lamesa, Texas; an aunt, Toni Davis of Paris; 20 nephews; 20 nieces; and a host of other relatives.' Tombstone is inscribed, 'US Army.' Buried near Leon C. McCuistion.
