THE PARIS NEWS, Thu., Mar. 17, 1994, p.18A. 'Myrtis Hebert Broussard, 73, Rt. 6, Paris, died at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday, Mar. 16, 1994, at her home. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 17, at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Mar. 18, in the Chapel of Vincent Funeral Home, Abbeville, LA, with a wake following. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 19, at St. Mary Magdalin Catholic Church, Abbeville, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Mrs. Broussard was born Oct. 3, 1920, in Abbeville, LA, a daughter of Maurice and Irene Mouton Hebert. She attended schools in Mouton and was a graduate of Abbeville High School. She attended the University of South Louisiana and Louisiana State University. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church of Paris and served as director of the Paris Outreach Clinic, where she worked from 1969 until her retirement in 1985. She was formerly employed by Columbia Studios, Hollywood, CA, and Campbell's Soup in Paris. She served on the board of directors of the Mamie Fenet Foundation and as secretary of the board of directors of the Red River Valley Council of Governments. She served as chairman of the Ark-La-Tex Alcohol-Drug Advisory Committee from 1975-77. The Paris chapter of the Business and Professional Women's Club named her Business Woman of the Year in 1973. Mrs. Broussard established the Fairweather Program Halfway House for Women in Paris in 1979. She married Ovide Augustine Broussard III April 7, 1950, in Lafayette, LA. He died Aug. 13, 1990. Surviving are one son, Richard C. Broussard of Plano; one daughter, Margaret A. (Maggie) Broussard of Paris; three grandchildren, Christopher James Broussard, Eric Allen Broussard and Austin Lee Broussard, all of Plano; two stepdaughters, Virginia Claire Broussard and Elaine Miles; and seven step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, and sons Clifford J. (Skippy) Broussard and O.A. Broussard IV. Serving as casket bearers will be H.J. LeBlanc Jr., Michael Miles, Kenneth 'Keno' Mouton, Scott Moore, Kenny Moore and Brent Moore. If desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.'
