THE PARIS NEWS, 11 Oct 1957: 'John E. Broderick, 78, retired house painter, died Friday at 9:30 p.m. at home, 419 8th NE, after being ill some time. Funeral services, Monday at 10:30 a.m. will be held at Fry and Gibbs chapel by the Rev. John Shuler and the Rev. Joe E. Wilson. Interment will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. Born in Tennessee, 15 Nov 1879 [sic], he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Broderick. He had lived here 35 years. He married Mrs. Rosie Craft, 15 Aug 1924, and she survives besides two sons, Ryno Broderick, Newark, N.J., and Danton Broderick, Clifton, N.J., several grandchildren, and these stepchildren: Darrel Maes, Texas City; Mrs. Ben W. Smith, Paris; and Leo Craft, McAlester, Okla. and a brother, W.T. Broderick, San Antonio.' On the same stone with Rose King Broderick Chandler.
