THE PARIS NEWS, Mar. 16, 2005: 'Mabel Francis Broadway, 81, of Paris died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, in Knights of Honor Cemetery with Bro. Harley Stripland officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. There will be no formal visitation hour observed. She was born Aug. 21, 1923, to Charles Benton and Ada Rhodes Broadway. She lived near Blossom most of her life and moved to be near her sister in Shreveport, La., in later years. She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church in Shreveport. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Jake Broadway of Blossom, Robert Broadway and Alvis Broadway of Hopewell community, Edgar Rater of Sylvan community, James Rater of Blossom and George Rater and Arlene Rainey of the Dallas area.'
